Before marriage, managing a wedding, a party, or any other occasion or function, we should take very important steps to reduce waste, like food items and other items, or avoid waste so that we can save money as well as food. Food wastage a serious problem in worldwide:

·         There are millions of people in the world who do not eat food at night, and there are millions of people who waste food. You know, such people waste millions of tons of food every year.


   How much food does one person waste per year?

·        Generally, 60 kg of food is wasted per person per year (60kg/people/year). These figures are shocking and till there dynamic data however impact there threat to the environment and form of Hunger increase per year, and there is a very serious need to pay attention to this. Everyone has to do their part to stop food waste forever.  

·         Not only the government but also social organizations are concerned about the waste of food, which also pollutes the environment. Every year, one-third of the food produced in the world, i.e., about 1 billion 35 crore tons, is wasted. The amount of food wasted is enough to meet the food needs of two billion people

·         According to other reports of the World Food Organization and previous reports, everyone in other countries, including India, is more insensitive towards increasing prosperity through sensitive food. Along with the ability to spend, the tendency to throw away food is also increasing. Even today, more than 20–30 % of the food is found.

·         According to the World Food Program report, every 7th person in the world sleeps hungry. If we control food waste, then many people around the world can be fed.

The countries that waste the most food per year have been ranked among the top countries in the 2022–2023 Global Hunger Index (GHI)


Youth have a vital role in building a food system that ensures the right to adequate food for present and future generations.

·         What should be the way forward to stop food wastage?

Start a campaign on a global scale, and you can help create a global movement that will virtually eliminate food waste.

You should make a list to take stock of your pantry, kitchen, refrigerator, and freezer before going to the store to avoid overbuying, especially of liquid foods.

Save food to save Money:  

Make a shopping list and avoid shopping in a hurry, which will not only waste food but also save good money. Just use it smartly, the logic being that after all the family members have eaten, there is no extra food in the kitchen. Doesn't survive. If food is available, put your bread in the freezer and eat it the next morning.

Conclusion

Religious, directorate leaders and voluntary organizations should also take initiative in this direction Along with being aware, children should develop the habit from the beginning that they should eat only as much food as they are hungry. The contribution of religion, philosophy, thought, and tradition in this process of change can also create a new environment.

What should be the next step to saving food?

To curb ostentation, display, and extravagance, the government should consider limiting the number of guests as well as the number of dishes served at weddings.

In this regard, farmers should be supported by the government for good food stocks and good management so that wastage on grains can be prevented.

If a new and effective law is made in this regard in collaboration with the country along with the Word Food program, it will definitely be a major improvement.
